This is the most popular place to sail in town, and the former site of the US Open and Velocity Games windsurfing regatta. There are some nice swells that form here making for really good bump & jump conditions. The water is shallow about 200 feet out, and then it gradually slopes to over head. The bottom is sandy. Because of the chop and water depth this is probably a better place for intermediate to advanced sailors.
Sailing Type: |Bump&Jump| |Slalom/Race| |Freestyle|
Best Wind Direction: |North| |Northeast| |Southeast| |South|
Beach & Facilities: |Restrooms| |Parking Area|
Accessibility: Accessible by car.
Rigging Area: Grass on top of a bluff
Special Directions: One could launch anywhere in the park, but seawalls in the water always create an issue. For this reason Oleander Point on the high bluff (the South end of the park) is really the best place to launch.
